Bubble and Squeak - from Vivaldi to modern
"This recital offers a rare journey through time and sound, weaving together Vivaldi’s sparkling clarinet concerto with the bold, modern lyricism of Fagerlund’s sonata, the elegant virtuosity of Widor’s Introduction and Rondo, and the soulful, earthy power of Valerie Coleman’s Red Clay and Mississippi Delta for wind quintet. The contrast between Baroque brilliance, Romantic charm, contemporary intensity, and jazz-inflected spirit makes this program uniquely rich and unpredictable. I love it because it showcases not only the clarinet’s versatility but also the joy of collaboration with other musicians, and I believe the audience will be captivated by the energy, colour, and emotional range of this musical journey.
