2026 Application Details

Applications to study at ANAM in 2026 are now open.

To secure your place in ANAM’s Performance Program, all applicants are required to meet the eligibility criteria and complete the three-step online application process.  


ELIGIBILITY 

ANAM extends a warm welcome to all people and is keen to support the diverse needs of all our musicians. We’re a proudly supportive place for people of different sexualities, genders and gender identities, cultures and ethnicities, religious beliefs, ages, and political beliefs. We're committed toinclusive practices and ways to offer the most meaningful support to those who require it. 

Age       
Applicants aged 28 and below on 1 January 2026 are eligible to apply for ANAM’s Performance Program in 2026. Applicants born on or before 1 January 1997 are ineligible to apply.

Citizenship Status 
Applicants must be either an Australian Citizen or Australian Permanent Resident, or a New Zealand Citizen to be eligible to apply.Proof of citizenship or residency will be requested at application. Applicants who provide false information will have their place in the ANAM Program revoked. 

Instruments 
ANAM accepts musicians on the following instruments: 

Flute | Oboe | Clarinet | Bassoon 
Horn | Trumpet | Tenor Trombone | Bass Trombone | Tuba 
Percussion and Timpani | Piano 
Violin | Viola | Cello | Double Bass  

ANAM reserves the right to change/alter this information at any stage. 

ANAM is a full-time program. Successful applicants are required to reside in Melbourne during ANAM term time and must not be undertaking any external studies concurrently to ANAM unless through pre-approved study streams.

HOW TO APPLY 

STEP 1 – Online Application  

Please complete the online application form to apply. A non-refundable application fee of AU$99 is payable on application and proof of citizenship will need to be provided. Applicants under the age of 18 require parent/guardian consent to apply and audition (details must be provided). 

APPLICATION FORM

Application forms are due by 11.59pm AEST Sunday 1 June 2025.   

STEP 2 – Round One Audition (recorded) 

Once applications have closed, you will receive a link to upload the Round One audition requirements via a personalised Google Drive link. All files (Audio-Visual recordings and written materials) must be clearly labelled and submitted online via Google Drive by 11.59pm AEST Sunday 29 June 2025.  If you encounter any issues uploading your files, please contact study@anam.com.au 

Applicants will be notified of the result of their Round One audition by Friday 25 July 2025. 

STEP 3 – Round Two Audition (online) 

Successful applicants selected for Round Two will be required to submit additional audition recordings and attend a live online audition and interview via Zoom. 

All recordings due by 11.59pm AEST Sunday 31 August 2025. 

Online auditions and interviews will take place between Saturday 20 September – Sunday 12 October 2025. Dates will be confirmed with successful applicants in August. Online auditions and interviews will be attended by ANAM’s Artistic Director, relevant Faculty, and a member of the Program staff.
