To secure your place in ANAM’s Performance Program, all applicants are required to meet the eligibility criteria and complete the three-step online application process.
ELIGIBILITY
ANAM extends a warm welcome to all people and is keen to support the diverse needs of all our musicians. We’re a proudly supportive place for people of different sexualities, genders and gender identities, cultures and ethnicities, religious beliefs, ages, and political beliefs. We're committed to inclusive practices and ways to offer the most meaningful support to those who require it.
Age
Applicants aged 28 and under on 1 January 2024 are eligible to apply for ANAM’s Performance Program in 2024. Applicants born on or before 1 January 1995 are ineligible to apply.
Citizenship Status
Applicants must be either an Australian Citizen, Australian Permanent Resident, or a New Zealand Citizen to be eligible to apply. Proof of citizenship or residency will be requested at application. Applicants who provide false information will have their place in the ANAM Program revoked.

ANAM accepts musicians on the following instruments:

Horn | Trumpet | Tenor Trombone | Bass Trombone | Tuba
Percussion & Timpani | Piano
Violin | Viola | Cello | Double Bass
Please note that harp will not be offered in 2024. ANAM reserves the right to change/alter this information at any stage.
HOW TO APPLY
STEP 1 – Online Application
Please complete the online application form to apply. A non-refundable application fee of AU$99 is payable on application and proof of citizenship will need to be provided. Applicants under the age of 18 also require parent/guardian consent to apply and audition (details must be provided).

STEP 2 – Round One Audition
Once you have completed the online application process you will receive a link to upload the Round 1 audition requirements. [Scroll down to download Audition Requirements per instrument]
All files (Audio-Visual recordings and written material) must be clearly labelled and submitted online via Google Drive by 11.59pm AEST Sunday 16 July 2023. If you encounter any issues uploading your files, please contact study@anam.com.au
Applicants will be notified of the result of their Round One audition by Friday 4 August 2023.
STEP 3 – Round Two Audition
Successful applicants selected for Round Two will be required to submit additional audition recordings and attend a live audition and interview online via Zoom.
Audition requirements for Round Two can be found in the links below, with recordings due by 11.59pm AEST Sunday 10 September 2023.
Online auditions and interviews will take place between Saturday 23 September – Sunday 8 October 2023. Dates will be confirmed with successful applicants in August. Online auditions will be attended by ANAM’s Artistic Director, relevant Faculty, and a member of Program staff.
Offers for 2024 will be released via email from Friday 20 October 2023.

ANAM reserves the right to change and amend audition dates and requirements at any time. All audition materials are collected and stored for the sole purpose of assessing the outcome of your 2024 ANAM application. Recordings are viewed by the ANAM Faculty panel.
