Information about COVID-19

In response to the ever evolving COVID-19 outbreak, ANAM has decided to close our doors until further notice.

This decision was made with the health, safety and wellbeing of our staff, Faculty, musicians, supporters and wider community in mind, as we all face the unique and challenging situation.

Staff are currently working remotely (from home), and throughout April will be monitoring changes brought on by COVID-19 and determining what it might mean for ANAM in the short term.

The training program for musicians has been suspended until 20 April. Staff and Faculty are working on developing training that can be delivered online. Our focus for now is not only looking after the ongoing training needs of our musicians, but their wellbeing too. We are looking at bringing together resources to help with the transition away from the support centre that is the ANAM headquarters at South Melbourne Town Hall, including continuing to provide financial assistance for living expenses as well as pay for travel arrangements if our musicians wish to return home, and provide equipment and instruments. We are also doing everything we can to make sure we all remain connected and supported during this difficult time.

For now, all ticket sales have been paused for the remainder of the year as we follow the evolving situation. We will communicate updates to you all in the coming weeks about public events scheduled beyond 20 April. 

Thank you for all of the support you’ve shared with us in the last few weeks, we are all in this together experiencing a situation that is new and extremely challenging for our society as a whole. Our commitment is for a vibrant arts community and although much of what we love is on pause at the moment, we look forward to bringing music to you again soon.


INFORMATION FOR TICKET BUYERS

Our team have contacted all ticket buyers for cancelled performances up until 20 April offering a refund, an exchange to a future performance or the opportunity to donate their ticket purchase to supporting ANAM’s training program. We will continue to communicate to all ticket buyers beyond 20 April in the coming weeks and appreciate your understanding during this uncertain time.
