ANAM Recital: Daniel You (viola)

ANAM Recitals are an opportunity for musicians to make their own personal musical statement, through performance, repertoire and presentation.

Experience the emotional worlds of Bach and Franck in the lens of the viola and piano. Be prepared to be swept by the prelude of Bach’s D minor cello suite, dance in the subsequent movements, and reminisce of love (and fury) in Franck’s sonata in A major.

"The D minor suite by Bach is a longtime favourite of mine which will be revisited this year with fresh insight, driven by the rhetorical nature of the movements and viewed with an interest in emotion and affect.
The Sonata in A major on the other hand, is a more recent project. As it is borrowed from the original violin version, I'll be exploring the features of the piece through the unique voice of the viola in collaboration with Leigh, on piano." - Daniel You
