Beethoven's String Quartets make up one of the most remarkable bodies of work in all music. The journey begins with his Quartet in D major, op. 18 no. 3, the first quartet completed by the young composer, full of youthful ambition and optimism. And Paul Hindemith, although a violist by profession wrote some of the last century's best music for winds, including this sleek, glistening 'Little Chamber Music'.
