ANAM Recital: Robin Hall

As a musician’s instrumental proficiency develops, so too does their artistic taste and temperament. Each ANAM musician’s recital is a snapshot in time – simultaneously summarising their year of training and revealing glimpses of their future selves. What music excites them? What do they want to communicate? How does their art help them understand the world better? Hear what the next generation of virtuosi have to say, and how, in the 2026 ANAM Recital series.

The Tuba's Herald
"I am excited to invite you to a recital highlighting the range and versatility of the tuba.

This program explores the dramatic fanfare of The Devil’s Herald by Richard Peaslee, the expressive melodies of Jennifer Glass’s Sonatina for Tuba and Piano, and Stéphane Kregar’s energetic and rhythmic Concerto for Tuba.

With piano, horns and percussion joining me, this lively recital takes the tuba beyond its familiar role in the orchestra, revealing an instrument of warmth, lyricism, humour and energy." — Robin Hall
