"Under a French Moon is inspired by the impact of nature on music, and the luminous quality of French music.

Emily Sheppard's ‘Moonmilk’ takes its name from a mineral that glows deep in caves, formed without ever seeing the sun — something luminous, grown in the dark. Debussy's trio drifts in like moonlight on water: silver, shifting, beams of melody and texture passed between the flute, viola, and harp. Franck's sonata brings the warmth back. This program intertwines light and dark, and how one becomes the other." — Mattea Osenk
