HELP US RESTORE AND RENEW THE SOUTH MELBOURNE TOWN HALL: READ MORE

MusiciansRobin Hall

Robin Hall began playing tuba at the age of 10 in primary school after being told to “get that out of the corner” from behind a mountain of percussion and music stands. Encouraged by his local community and family in his hometown of Dubbo, he was fortunate to participate in three overseas tours during high school.

With his enthusiasm for music performance bolstered, Robin undertook a Bachelor of Music (Performance) at the Australian National University which he completed in 2023, studying under Bjorn Pfeiffer. While there, he gained valuable experience performing in the Band of the Royal Military College Duntroon, Australian National University Orchestra, and National Capital Orchestra.

In 2025, Robin is honoured to be a first-year musician at ANAM, taught by Karina Filipi. He aims to hone his orchestral and chamber music skills and become a stirring and energetic soloist.

Robin’s interaction with incredible music educators has also garnered a passion for music education, having been a brass tutor at many schools and music camps since 2019. He seeks to gather more teaching skills and methods throughout his time at ANAM.

When not in the practice room, Robin enjoys spending time in the kitchen (sometimes a little too ambitiously), burning it off at the gym, and unwinding with a good book or puzzle.
