Hailing from the Mid North Coast of NSW, violinist Jonah commences his first year at ANAM under the guidance of Adam Chalabi.
Jonah began music tuition at Coffs Harbour Regional Conservatorium before moving to Brisbane to study with Michele Walsh at the Queensland Conservatorium, Griffith University. Upon completion of a Bachelor of Music in 2024, Jonah successfully auditioned for the Queensland Symphony Orchestra Academy Program, 2025.
Jonah's passion for classical music flourished with his involvement in youth orchestras, including Sydney Youth Orchestra, Australian Youth Orchestra, and NSW Regional Youth Orchestra (RYO). RYO provided Jonah with his earliest orchestral experience, offering the amazing opportunity to be tutored by members of the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, Australian World Orchestra, and the Staaskapelle Berlin, as well as the chance to participate in engaging chamber and solo performances.
Over the last several years, Jonah has enjoyed the opportunity to work alongside, and be tutored by, members of the Acacia Quartet, Australian Haydn Ensemble, and Queensland Symphony Orchestra. One of Jonah's highlights, a side-by-side performance with members of the LA Philharmonic Wind Quintet alongside fellow Conservatorium students in 2024, reinforced his passion for chamber music.
Outside of music, Jonah enjoys following several forms of motorsports and likes to keep active with his ever-changing sports interests.
