Felix commences his first year at ANAM in 2026, under the tutelage of Caroline Henbest.
Introduced to viola at age 11, Felix was immediately drawn into the instrument's grounded sound and commenced lessons with Pat Brearley at the Coffs Harbour Regional Conservatorium. He completed a Bachelor of Music at the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University, studying with Imants Larsens.
Felix has been fortunate to participate in a wide range of orchestral and chamber opportunities. Highlights include performing with Australian Youth Orchestra (AYO) as well as joining AYO's International Tour 2025, Queensland Youth Symphony Europe Tour 2023, Australian Chamber Orchestra's ACO Academy, Regional Youth Orchestra NSW and numerous performances with the QLD Conservatorium Orchestra, particularly performing Krzysztof Penderecki's Viola Concerto.
Felix is an avid composer and has created many solo, chamber and orchestral works. He has been awarded the Harmer Endowment Fund for Viola and won the John Curro Viola Prize, Australia and New Zealand Viola Society Solo Viola Composition Prize, the Vada Jefferies Bach Prize, the Basil Jones Sonata Prize and the Ross Peters 4MBS Chamber Prize with Fiddlesticks Quartet.
Felix has had the privilege of appearing with Ensemble Q and has enjoyed playing in diverse and unique chamber performances, as well as performing with the Queensland Symphony Orchestra.
