*Date Change* ANAM Recital: Joshua Jones (cello) - Cello Throughout History

Due to unforeseen circumstances, this performance has been rescheduled from the previously advertised date of Thursday, 22 June.

ANAM Recitals are an opportunity for musicians to make their own personal musical statement, through performance, repertoire and presentation. This recital is presented and performed by Joshua Jones, featuring Associate Faculty artist Aidan Boase, and cellist Isaac Davis.

Joshua explains, regarding this program:

"My program explores the different characteristics of cello-playing across history, by showcasing the extravagance and passion of Prokofiev's Symphony-Concerto, alongside Beethoven's Sonata in C Major, then followed by Geminiani Cello Sonata in A Major. These pieces are all written in different eras, beginning with 20th Century contemporary, then Classical, and ending with pre-Classical. In doing so I hope to highlights the transformation of musical culture and traditions over time." - Joshua Jones (QLD) cello
