Tabea Zimmermann leads the ANAM musicians in music redolent with the beauty of the great outdoors.

  • Veress was a disciple of fellow Hungarian composer Béla Bartók, and his four dances, written in the late 1940s, are a potent meditation on time and place
  • Brahms’ bucolic serenade shines with a deep, golden orchestral colouring, partly because Brahms’ instrumentation gives the violas the top line; the scoring does not feature violins
  • No journey to the countryside is more glorious than Beethoven’s. Whether it’s the 'Scene by the Brook' or the 'Thunderstorm', the musical scene painting in his Pastoral Symphony represents an almost Olympian ideal
