Beleura House and Garden, a stunning 19th-century house on the Mornington Peninsula, is renowned for its breathtaking gardens and custom-built performance space. Here, ANAM brings you an exceptional chamber music experience, featuring both ANAM musicians and faculty members.
In line with ANAM’s 2025 theme of tuning in to the beauty, meaning, and humanity, this performance offers more than entertainment. It is an invitation to reflect on the profound connections that music creates.
This concert will feature Shostakovich’s Concertino in A minor, Op. 94, written during a time of significant cultural change in the Soviet Union. He wrote it the year after Stalin’s death, while much of the Soviet Union experienced a welcome thaw of the cultural oppression. Shostakovich gifted the Concertino to his son Maxim, a 25-year-old piano student. Later father and son recorded the piece together.
After the concert, enjoy a delightful afternoon tea, included in your ticket price, as you take in the beauty of the grounds.
