ANAM Recital: Nicholas Corkeron (trumpet)

PLEASE NOTE: Due to unforeseen circumstances, this performance has been rescheduled from the previously advertised time of 3.30pm.

ANAM Recitals are an opportunity for musicians to make their own personal musical statement, through performance, repertoire and presentation. This concert is presented by Nicholas Corkeron.

Telemann's Concerto for Trumpet displays a fanciful collection of sonorous melody only to be whisked off to ever more joyeous plains with jumping and skipping throughout the work.

Bohme's Concerto, however, takes time and care to explore the colour and life seen in a bavarian common man's life.

Mills' Concerto for Trumpet is framed with modern and romantic colours, however the foundations of both of the previous works are companions to this work, particularly in the flighty runs found in the first movement as well as the luscious melodies heard in the second movement.
