Jade, an oboist from Brisbane, grew up surrounded by music. She was drawn to the unusual instrument at the first opportunity to choose one of her own.
Following the boundless patience of her first teacher Natasha Kalous, Jade began a Bachelor of Music completing her first year under Dr Eve Newsome at the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University. After relocating to Melbourne, Jade continued her studies with Jeffrey Crellin at Melbourne Conservatorium of Music, University of Melbourne, and is set to graduate in 2026.
Jade was awarded first place in the Australian Double Reed Championship in 2024 and was a finalist in the University of Melbourne Concerto Competition in 2025.
Throughout her studies, Jade has enjoyed the opportunity to perform large orchestral works with University of Melbourne’s Symphony Orchestra, performing Stravinsky’s Rite of Spring, Holst’s The Planets and Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 4.
Additional performance highlights include side-by-side projects with the Australia Ensemble UNSW, Orchestra Victoria and the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra.
Jade is excited to commence her first year of training at ANAM under Jeffrey Crellin, joining in the second term of 2026. She looks forward to learning more music from the classical and romantic periods and exploring historically informed performance.
Outside of music, Jade can usually be found up a rock-climbing wall or making a racquet on the badminton court.
