Valmay Hill brings to the ANAM Board extensive executive experience across the commercial, government, and cultural sectors. Her cultural leadership includes serving as CEO of Brisbane Festival for 8 years and CEO of Queensland Symphony Orchestra which were subsequent to her role as Project Director for major international initiatives at Sydney Opera House including APEC, World Youth Day and FIFA World Congress.
Her prior commercial career spanned senior roles with Exxon in the United States, culminating in her appointment as Treasurer for Esso Australia, followed by global executive responsibilities with TNT Worldwide. She also has significant consulting experience in strategic management, and mergers and acquisitions.
Valmay currently serves as Chair of Brisbane Powerhouse and the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University Advisory Board, and as a Director on the boards of Queensland Museum Network and Queensland Symphony Orchestra where she is also a member of their respective Finance, Audit and Risk Committees.
Her transition into the cultural sector reflects a deliberate alignment of her commercial acumen with her long‑standing commitment to the arts, bringing strategic clarity, financial stewardship, and sector insight to the organisations she serves.
