Diana Doherty is widely regarded as one of the most talented Australian instrumentalists working today. Described as ‘oboe royalty’, Diana joins ANAM musicians in a program of delightful woodwind masterpieces.
Beethoven’s Quintet for Piano and Winds in E-flat is most likely modelled on Mozart’s written a dozen years earlier but Beethoven casts the piano and winds in contrasting roles. Mozart’s Serenade for Winds in C minor is one of his most puzzling and mysterious works in its orchestration, key and form, while remaining a Mozart treasure to enjoy.
The Mostly Mozart series of concerts provides an hour of wonderful music and the chance to catch up with friends over a cup of tea with classical masterpieces performed in the acoustic beauty of Elisabeth Murdoch Hall.
