ANAM With Pride

We are proud to partner with The Pride Fund to present a first of its kind concert at the Victorian Pride Centre (VPC)

“We were thrilled to be asked to give a concert at the Victorian Pride Centre, as their mission represents so much of what is good and necessary in our society today. At ANAM we want to be making music in a way that reflects everyone’s needs and beliefs so to be joining the Pride Centre community for an evening of music making is right at the heart of our mission as well. As a wonderful musical bonus, the Pride Centre building contains a truly inspiring concert space making this project a joy!

“We wanted to deliver a program that is linked with tradition but also looks into the future. Mozart’s String Quintet represents to many what is most beautiful about classical music, the rarely heard Brass Quintet by Victor Ewald is a true romantic gem, and to open the concert, a recent work (commissioned by ANAM in 2021) by an Australian composer Ian Whitney, An Architecture of Butter and Sugar for solo flute is guaranteed to put a smile on every listener’s face.” – Paavali Jumppanen, ANAM Artistic Director
