Forming in 2015 as students of The Australian National Academy of Music (ANAM), Affinity Quartet appeared on Australia’s classical music scene as ‘one of the most exciting ensembles to make their mark.’ Classic Melbourne. Affinity’s international touring has included performances at the 2022 Wigmore Hall International String Quartet Competition, the 2020 Amsterdam String Quartet Biennale, Fondazione Cini Venice, Fornasey House Milan, Mirabell Palace Salzburg, and St Martin-in-the- Fields, and in 2016, City Music Society, Southbank Centre, and Prussia Cove International Musicians Seminar. The quartet champions works by Australian and contemporary composers, including the complete string quartets of Janacek, Haas, Britten and Panufnik. In 2022 Affinity Quartet commissions new Australian work and performs in Melbourne Recital Centre’s Local Heroes series.
