Every project that I ever did at ANAM was a highlight. Music has this unique way of stopping time in a particular moment and saying “let’s not forget this”. The eight works in this collection are some of many moments etched in my mind as being impossible to forget.
This selection of pieces is ANAM in a nutshell. It gives a broad view of the entire organisation and of the repertoire that we do. There is a piece from my opening performance at ANAM in 2016 (Dvořák) and a piece from what ended up being my final live performance as Artistic Director in 2020 (Lachenmann). They are the bookends, in a way, of my tenure as ANAM Artistic Director and in between are five wonderful years of music-making.
