MSO Spring Gala: Symphonic Tales

Faraway lands and the mysterious meet in this mesmerising program, performed by ANAM musicans and the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra.

The Sorcerer's Apprentice embodies the chaos that strikes when an apprentice sorcerer loses control of their powers. Followed by Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto no. 1, infamously critiqued by Nikolai Rubinstein who later withdrew his criticism, championing what would become the best-known piano concerti. Renowned pianist Khatia Buniatishvili, will bring their innovative flair to Tchaikovsky's piece, featuring influence from Ukrainian folk music. Rimsky-Korsakov’s Scheherazade will continue this unique program’s fantastical theme.

Join Chief Conductor Jaime Martín, ANAM and the MSO for a journey of magical escapism.
