Established in 2018 at the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University, the Artamidae Quartet comprises violinists Fiona Qiu and Donica Tran, violist Harry Swainston and cellist Nadia Barrow. As graduates the Quartet were winners of the Ross Peters 4MBS Chamber Music Prize and had the privilege to perform in masterclasses with members from the Borodin, Emmerson, New Zealand and Australian String Quartets. In 2019 they were selected to participate in the Adam Summer School in New Zealand, where they had the opportunity to delve into the early works of Beethoven and be tutored by the New Zealand String Quartet. The Artamidae Quartet are currently continuing their studies at the Australian National Academy of Music (ANAM), where they are mentored by Sophie Rowell, Head of Chamber Music (Strings).
