Matthew Wilkie, performs/directs ANAM musicians in a program of works originally produced for theatre from Mozart, Rossini and Mendelssohn.
Rossini’s The Barber of Seville overture is an exquisite work energised with immense humanity and humour. Followed by excerpts from Mendelssohn’s iconic arrangements for Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Mozart’s Serenade no. 11 for Winds are double quintet arrangements of theatre works, expressing Mozart’s more whimsical elements.
Listeners will encounter a mesmerising theatrical performance delivered by a brilliant ensemble of ANAM Musicians.
