However, ANAM and Melbourne Recital Centre are pleased to partner with Melbourne Digital Concert Hall (MDCH) to stream the concert at 2.30pm with a rebroadcast at 8.30pm with a reviewed program (the addition of Sophie Spencer's performance of Haydn's Trumpet Concerto).
Three spectacular works by Mozart conjure joy and triumph in the grandest scale.
ANAM 2020 Concerto Competition finalists Phoebe Gardner and Sophie Spencer perform with the ANAM Orchestra conducted by Johannes Fritzsch. Violinist Phoebe performs Mozart’s joyful and provocative Violin Concerto No.5, illustrating the ‘sunny genius’ that we all cherish in Mozart’s music. Trumpeter Sophie performs Haydn’s Trumpet Concerto in E-flat, a work that Johannes Fritzsch describes as “one of the absolute central pieces for trumpet players around the world”. Mozart’s Symphony No.35, ‘Haffner’, is the perfect festive conclusion to this Mostly Mozart concert set in the acoustic beauty of Elisabeth Murdoch Hall at Melbourne Recital Centre.
