Mozart wrote four horn concertos for his friend and French horn virtuoso Joseph Leutgeb. Each includes difficult techniques that Leutgeb excelled in, which were no small feat for horn players of the day grappling with the challenges of the instrument. Lively and atmospheric, the concerto offers wonderful variety through velvety passages and dramatic hunt-music championing the horn. Featuring Bach’s much-loved Brandenburg Concerto no. 3.
