This exploration of classics for windensemble sees us in the company ofa starry ensemble indeed: leading theANAM musicians for this program is agroup in which every member is a firstamong equals – a quintet comprisingprincipal players from the Los AngelesPhilharmonic Orchestra, including ANAMHorn Faculty Andrew Bain. With thesemusicians, we’ll be taken on a journeyfrom late 19th-century France –and Gounod’s delicious evocation of thespirit of Mozart – to the United Statesin the mid 20th century, and the warm,open-air lyricism of Samuel Barber’sSummer Music.
