As a musician’s instrumental proficiency develops, so too does their artistic taste and temperament. Each ANAM musician’s recital is a snapshot in time - simultaneously summarising their year of training and revealing glimpses of their future selves. What music excites them? What do they want to communicate? How does their art help them understand the world better? Experience the unique and intimate points of view of each musician individually in this recital series. Hear what the next generation of virtuosi have to say, and how.
Hanna Wallace Viola Recital
"My recital program contains some of the viola works that made me fall in love with the instrument. The solo viola works really showcase the richness and beauty of the viola in a way that I had yet to explore. In the past I viewed viola as an 'accompaniment' instrument of sorts, however through this recital program I was able to view the viola as a solo instrument.
I am thoroughly enjoying preparing these works, particularly the York Bowen Sonata, a punchy and beautiful piece. I have fallen deeper in love with the viola as a solo instrument." - Hanna Wallace
