ANAM at Immigration Museum: Sound of Joy

From exuberance through to relaxation, this contemporary classical music experience captures the many vignettes that arise when we indulge in the time to slow down, listen and absorb the sounds of the Australian landscape around us.

Inspired by many beautiful, sunny afternoons spent in Australian parks, this program flows through written and improvised music, weaving together sounds of weather, wildlife and humanity. Curated and performed by ANAM musicians, this experience shares their love for expression, creativity and music. It also reflects on the intrinsically connected nature of communal outdoor spaces.

Sound of Joy adds a new, seventh room to the Immigration Museum’s Joy Exhibition, inviting audiences into the stunning acoustic of the Long Room to indulge in a diverse program of contemporary classical music drawn from Australian landscapes.

Visitors are invited to view the Joy Exhibition prior to each show and attend a guided tour at 1:15pm and 3:15pm. Please meet your guide at the Ground Floor Foyer to attend the tour.

This show presented in partnership with Museums Victoria, Immingarion Museum and supported by Now or Never 2024.
