ANAM Recitals enable each musician to make their own personal musical statement, through performance, repertoire and presentation.
A Violin and Piano Delight!
This is a chance to dip into the worlds of Bach, Elgar and indulge in some treats arranged by violin extraordinaire Jascha Heifetz.
This recital will explore some of the works that are not necessarily the first to come to mind when considering each composer, but that I believe are still absolute highlights of their creative outputs.
Bach's accompanied violin sonatas are as beautiful and genius as ever. The violin and piano parts converse, interweaving and provoking each other the way through - as only Bach could have imagined! Written in the same creative burst as the cello concerto, the Elgar violin sonata will take you through the nostalgic and bittersweet E minor undertones of his last compositions to this world. Finally, the vignettes of Heifetz, Beau Soir and March are fun additions to send you off feeling good for the rest of the day!
