ANAM Recital: Leanne McGowan (violin)

ANAM Recitals enable each musician to make their own personal musical statement, through performance, repertoire and presentation.

A Kaleidoscope of gems from the violin repertoire

I absolutely love the diversity of this program, and the way each piece highlights a different style and beauty in violin playing. The Bach Chaconne, which is one of the most remarkable and significant pillars in the violin repertoire, will provide great contrast to the vibrancy and fleeting colours of the elegant Debussy sonata. And to bring some more fun and life to my program is Jeno Hubay's virtuosic Carmen Fantasy and two short but very sweet and playful pieces arranged by Jascha Heifetz for violin and piano.

JS BACH Chaconne from Violin Partita in D minor BWV 1004
DEBUSSY Sonata for Violin and Piano
PONCE Estrellita
PROKOFIEV March from Love for Three Oranges
HUBAY Carmen, fantasie brillante op. 3 no. 3

Leanne McGowan QLD violin
Louisa Breen piano
