ANAM Recitals enable each musician to make their own personal musical statement, through performance, repertoire and presentation.
A journey back in time through the oboe
This recital demonstrates how versatile an instrument the oboe really is. Beginning with a flurry of impressionistic sounds from Gilles Silvestrini, and moving on to an original composition inspired for the most part by music of the Romantic era, the concert concludes where the oboe has its roots, where it feels most at home - in the Baroque. CPE Bach's dynamic flute concerto in D minor (transcribed for oboe) is a work with an incredible range of expression, and will be performed with strings and harpsichord, bringing it truly alive. Taking us into this last piece, the concert also includes one of Mozart's melodic gems, his Adagio for cor anglais and string trio.
