ANAM Recitals enable each musician to make their own personal musical statement, through performance, repertoire and presentation.
A rapturous and virtuosic Concerto, a sublime classical trio and a genre-spanning world premiere.
The Walton Concerto is one of the great Viola Concertos with extreme technical and emotional demands on the performer and I’ve chosen it for this recital as a rite of passage and to challenge myself to meet the difficulties it poses. The two starkly contrasting trios were chosen for my love of chamber music, something I focus on in all areas of my development as a musician. Mozart’s Kegelstatt trio is such a beautiful piece and will challenge me as a performer to switch gear from the 1920s to the 1780s. Harry Suherland’s piece was composed for this recital while he was travelling in Norway. His background in Jazz makes this a really exciting project of discovery especially as we explore the role of the synthesiser in this trio and make up the rules as we go.
