Inspired by the NGV’s Australian Art collection at the Ian Potter Centre: NGV Australia, musicians from the Australian National Academy of Music (ANAM) curate and perform musical responses to artworks in the Collection.
The program highlights the importance of creative minds, philosophical thought, and vision, and the effect these have on society and our own personal mindsets. The spread of ideas brings awareness to our perspective of the world, equality and human rights, generating positive societal change.
The musicians present an improvisation performed on household objects, celebrating the unique ways everyday items can be repurposed. Audience members are invited to participate in changing the sounds heard in the music, allowing each individual to consider how their actions can impact the world around them.
