Starting with her first performance at the age of three, Emily has always been passionate about performing and sharing the joy of music with others. She currently studies with two incredible teachers, Dr Robin Wilson and Caron Chan, who have so wonderfully supported her in her musical development. Emily also studied for many years under a scholarship with the Rising Stars Open Academy at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.
Emily’s successes in various competitions have presented her with a number of incredible performance experiences. Memorable moments include being awarded the Overall Winner at the 2018 NSW/ACT Secondary Schools Concerto Competition and in the same year being a semi-finalist of the Kendall National Violin Competition. Emily has also won multiple categories at the Sydney Eisteddfod, most memorable being the 'Violin 19 and under' category at age 14.
Throughout 2019, Emily was honoured to perform as soloist with the ACO Academy Orchestra, the Penrith Symphony Orchestra and the Ku-ring-gai Philharmonic Orchestra. She was also invited to perform with the Australian Piano Quartet. Emily was selected to participate in the ACO Academy from 2015-2018 and at AYO’s National Music Camp in 2019-2020. Particularly exciting was performing an octet with an amazing group of musicians in the Advanced Chamber Music concert.
Emily was awarded her violin AMusA with Distinction in 2014, and her LMusA in 2016 also with Distinction. An accomplished pianist, Emily was also awarded her piano AMusA with Distinction in 2017, and was fortunate enough to perform as soloist under the baton of Dr Nicholas Milton at the Chatswood Concourse.
Going into her first year, Emily looks forward to the incredible opportunities and experiences that the Australian National Academy of Music (ANAM) has to offer, as well as the chance to meet and share beautiful music with the supporters and friends of ANAM.
