Aziel Verner began his musical studies in Wellington, New Zealand. He has just completed his final year of study under Prof Qian Zhou at the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music (YSTCM) in Singapore, and will commence at the Australian National Academy of Music (ANAM) from May 2019.
Aziel has been a prize winner at numerous competitions, recently winning prizes at the Gisborne International Music Competition, International Guangya Violin Invitational Competition and the YSTCM Concerto Competition. Aziel has performed in numerous countries such as New Zealand, Singapore, China, Australia, and Israel.
Just this year he performed in concerts with virtuoso violinist Aleksey Igudesman and pianist Hyung-Ki Joo, and as guest First Violin with the Juilliard String Quartet. Aziel has been a member of the YSTCM Orchestra as Concertmaster, Wellington Youth Orchestra, NZSO National Youth Orchestra, and Concertmaster for the North Sydney Youth Symphony.
Aziel previously attended the Singapore Violin Festival and The Keshet Eilon Summer Mastercourse, studying with world renown teachers such as Victor Danchenko, Takashi Shimizu, Boris Kuschnir, Shmuel Ashkenasi, and Vadim Gluzman.
Aziel plays on a 1778 JB Guadagnini generously loaned by The Rin Collection.
