Saved from developers in 2004, Abbotsford Convent comes alive for its 20th birthday celebration.
Join us as we celebrate one of Australia’s largest arts precincts with pop up performances, open studios and rehearsals throughout the day from ANAM musicians and Abbotsford Convent tenants.
Across the day ANAM musicians will present a number of pop-up performances.
Rosina Sessions
Catch an exclusive, behind-the-scenes glimpse into the day-to-day working of the musicians at the Australian National Academy of Music (ANAM), as they prepare and rehearse for their upcoming performances. With 66 musicians in the ANAM performance program, each playing instruments from across the orchestra, these small group sessions will surprise you with their sounds, colours, and styles! These “drop in” sessions will allow you to enter and exit as you please, so stay for as little or as long as you like.
1st Floor String Sessions
Need some time to relax, reflect, and unwind from the outside world? Come inside the serenity of the main Convent Building to hear performances, featuring musicians from the Australian National Academy of Music (ANAM). Find them on the landing of the First Floor, Eastern Staircase of the Convent Building.
